I am very excited to present my knitted collaboration with the super-talented, Whimsy Gothic illustrator Holly Sweet Illustration. We wanted to recreate her most popular print 'The Wizard of Frog' in a knitted vest to share his cuteness as a wearable piece.
We decided a vest would be perfect as Spring and layering season approaches us. Under a turtle neck, shirt, t-shirt or on it's own - there are plenty of ways to style it. No matter how you wear it, the Wizard Frog is guaranteed to make you feel magical :)
This jumper is composed of 100% Supersoft lambswool which contains air-pockets making it the perfect material for regulating temperature. Not only does it retain heat in Winter but also it releases excess body heat during the warmer seasons too - it really is a miracle, year-round fibre!
Wool is also antibacterial and odour-resistant so requires very infrequent washing. My natural fibre jumpers need washing every 10+ wears and can often just be aired out instead of washed. And last, but certainly not least, lambswool is a much more sustainable fibre. It requires 70% less water than cotton to produce 100 jumpers, is biodegradable, and is extremely durable and therefore yields long-lasting garments that can be cherished for years to come.
Each knit piece is made by hand by me in my home studio in Kent. I use a hand-operated domestic knitting machine from 1982 to knit up the panels and seam the pieces stitch for stitch on my linker. Seeing a piece come to life in my hands feels very special to me and ensures I can maintain the highest quality across all my pieces. Each piece takes me 2 days to complete and the cost goes towards my labour, my original designs, the highest quality 100% Supersoft lambswool and other top-quality materials.
