Hi, I'm Gracie
I bought my first domestic knitting machine following a burnout-induced career break. I never expected it to grow into such a passion - I love that you can craft any design into a cosy, wearable piece of art.
Knitting up my creations has forced me to practice working slowly and intentionally. During my journey, I have developed my other values: keeping traditional artisanal practices (like Hand Intarsia) alive, creating clothing that lasts and working with natural “miracle” fibres, like wool.
Alongside my newfound passion for knitting, I spent a good deal of my time after burnout healing in nature. My home studio (made up of refurbished, secondhand equipment) is based in the heart of the Kent countryside. My surrounding natural landscape has helped me to feel grounded and at peace again. Not only that, but I regained the confidence to start exploring (or roving) again.
Therefore, GRK is a project that embodies my newfound practice of living more slowly and intentionally, and leading with curiosity, joy and exploration. My first collection is a set of six tank tops that reflect the scenes that brought me contentment throughout the past two seasons. I hope that as you wear them you are reminded of the importance to slow down, recall your intentions and explore more in nature <3
